Privacy Policy
Effective Date: October 27, 2026
ShiftSlayer respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you use the ShiftSlayer mobile application.
Information You Provide
Depending on the features you use, ShiftSlayer may allow you to enter information such as work schedules, shift information, hourly pay rates, overtime settings, pay-period information, PTO and leave balances, payroll deductions and withholding information, paycheck and earnings information, premium-pay settings, notes, and account information used for optional cloud backup and restore.
Cloud Accounts and Encrypted Backups
ShiftSlayer offers optional cloud account and backup features. When you create a cloud account, your email address and account identifier are processed by Firebase Authentication. If you enable cloud backup, selected ShiftSlayer data may be transmitted to Cloud Firestore in encrypted form so it can be backed up and restored.
Cloud backups may include profile information, employer and job information, schedules, work entries and notes, pay rates, pay-period settings, overtime rules, PTO balances, premium and differential settings, tax settings, deduction and bonus settings, paycheck history and reconciliation values, app preferences, day notes, notification preferences, and limited paystub attachment metadata.
Paystub image or PDF contents and raw scanned OCR text are not stored in Firebase cloud backup.
Optional iCloud Sync & Backup — Version 1.1.0 and Later
On supported Apple devices, you can choose to enable iCloud Sync & Backup. When enabled, ShiftSlayer stores your schedules, work entries, notes, earnings and paycheck history, leave balances, payroll and tax settings, app preferences, and linked paystub attachments in your own iCloud account's private CloudKit database. This is separate from the optional Firebase account and backup described above.
Apple manages iCloud sign-in. ShiftSlayer does not receive your Apple Account password. Private CloudKit records are not made publicly available or available to us through the developer console. Your iCloud storage quota applies. Apple provides iCloud transport and storage protection; Advanced Data Protection depends on your Apple Account settings.
You can continue using local storage while signed out of iCloud or while sync is off. Changes made offline are saved locally and retried when connectivity and iCloud access return. Apple controls background execution, so synchronization may wait until the app is opened again. CloudKit silent notifications provide opportunities to check for changes; they do not guarantee immediate background delivery. Local reminder settings remain separate, and Firebase Cloud Messaging is not used.
Recovery keeps the latest 30 automatic cloud recovery points and all manual cloud backups until deleted. Local copies made before an iCloud restore or conflict resolution remain on that device until individually deleted. Manual backups and recovery copies can consume storage. Cloud synchronization alone is not a guarantee that every earlier state can be recovered.
iCloud recovery includes paystub files linked to saved paycheck records. It does not reconstruct attachment links that were already missing or automatically include loose, unattached files. Paystub scanning and OCR processing remain on your device. Firebase backup continues to exclude paystub image/PDF contents and raw OCR text.
Turning iCloud sync off keeps existing local and cloud information. Settings → App Data → iCloud Sync & Backup → Delete iCloud Data removes ShiftSlayer's cloud records and recovery points from the current iCloud account. Other devices with sync still enabled can upload information again. This action does not delete local records or your separate Firebase account. Apple also provides controls for iCloud storage and account access.
Optional ShiftSlayer Pro — Version 1.2.0
Where ShiftSlayer Pro is available, you may choose a Monthly or Annual subscription for advanced paycheck audits, earnings and overtime trends, and custom reports. Both plans provide the same Pro features. Existing free functionality, including basic reconciliation, saved history, PTO, iCloud backup and recovery, and custom entry pay rates, remains free.
Apple processes subscription payments. ShiftSlayer does not receive your payment-card details. RevenueCat processes the app customer identifier, product and transaction identifiers, purchase history, subscription and renewal status, expiration and restoration information, complimentary access, and technical information needed to provide its service. These records support purchase validation, access, recovery, customer support, fraud prevention, and purchase analytics. The developer can access RevenueCat customer and subscription records for those purposes. These records are separate from payroll information in your private CloudKit database.
Your optional ShiftSlayer account is associated with a private random RevenueCat customer identifier through a Firebase account mapping. The app does not send your email address, Firebase account identifier, schedules, payroll entries, tax values, paystub files, Pro audit contents, or iCloud identity to RevenueCat. Apple and the providers process their own transaction and technical information under their policies. No cross-app advertising tracking is added.
Pro audit entries, saved comparisons and report choices stay in existing local storage and enabled backup providers, subject to each provider's storage limits. They are not sent to RevenueCat. Private iCloud recovery may also retain up to three generated Pro checkpoints alongside the existing automatic and manual recovery points. Subscription expiration does not delete saved Pro records or existing free information. Optional billing-account sign-in does not create separate local payroll workspaces.
Paycheck and Payroll Information
ShiftSlayer may process information relating to pay rates, hours worked, overtime, deductions, taxes, and paycheck information to calculate and display estimates and work-related information requested by the user.
ShiftSlayer is not a payroll provider, tax preparer, accountant, financial institution, or employer payroll system.
Payroll, tax, withholding, and take-home-pay figures displayed by ShiftSlayer are estimates and may differ from an employer's official payroll records.
Paystub Scanning
If you choose to use paystub scanning or import features, ShiftSlayer may process the document on your device to assist with entering or comparing payroll information. Only submit documents you are authorized to use.
Notifications
ShiftSlayer uses local notifications for features such as schedule, shift, and pay-period reminders. ShiftSlayer does not use Firebase Cloud Messaging for remote push notifications.
Firebase Technical Diagnostics
ShiftSlayer does not use Firebase Analytics, Firebase Crashlytics, advertising SDKs, or cross-app tracking. Firebase Authentication, Cloud Firestore, Firebase Installations, and supporting Firebase SDKs may process limited unlinked technical information, such as SDK, device, operating-system, app-bundle, and diagnostic metadata, to operate and maintain those services.
Information Stored on Your Device
Some ShiftSlayer information is stored locally on your device so the app can provide its features and preserve your settings. Local information may remain on your device after deleting a cloud account until you reset the app or uninstall it.
Third-Party Services
ShiftSlayer uses Google Firebase for optional authentication, account mappings, account-data deletion tracking, and encrypted cloud backup. Optional Pro uses RevenueCat for subscription validation, access, recovery, support and purchase analytics; Apple manages billing. GitHub may receive a technical network request when the app checks for an optional update manifest. User-initiated support messages are sent through the user's email provider only after the user chooses to send them.
ShiftSlayer does not sell your personal information.
Data Retention and Account Deletion
Users with a ShiftSlayer cloud account may delete that account from within the app. The deletion flow removes the Firebase Authentication account and the associated live Firestore cloud backup. Local device data remains unless the user resets or uninstalls ShiftSlayer.
For Pro accounts, deletion also starts a tracked cleanup process for RevenueCat customer records, account mappings and associated administrative grant records. Cleanup proceeds only after Firebase account removal is confirmed. Requests remain tracked when a provider is unavailable, and processing is retried or escalated for support. Our completion target is within seven days. You can check the status under Settings → App Data → Backup & Restore without signing in, or contact ShiftSlayer Support for help. A provider's acceptance of a deletion request is not reported as completion.
The device keeps a random deletion-status receipt in secure local storage. The corresponding status contains only a generic processing state and timestamps, without an email address, Firebase user identifier, RevenueCat customer identifier, payroll data or transaction information. Anyone holding that receipt can check its generic status; status records cannot be listed publicly or marked complete by an app user. Completed receipts expire after 30 days and are removed by the cleanup process. Outstanding requests remain tracked until resolved.
After verified cleanup, the identity mapping and its associated grant records are removed. A minimal retired random-identifier reservation, without the former Firebase user identifier, email or payroll data, is retained to prevent reassignment of a former billing identity. Apple and service providers may retain records they are legally required to keep and limited operational records under their policies.
Deleting a ShiftSlayer account does not cancel an Apple subscription or stop future billing. Use Manage Subscription or your Apple subscription settings to cancel renewal. A complimentary Pro grant does not cancel an existing Apple subscription. Private iCloud records, local records and independent exports remain under their separate controls; optional account deletion does not erase them.
Service providers may retain limited operational or diagnostic records according to their own retention policies.
Data Security
ShiftSlayer uses reasonable safeguards, including encrypted cloud-backup payloads, to protect information. However, no electronic storage or transmission method can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
Children's Privacy
ShiftSlayer is intended for workers managing their own schedules, earnings, and payroll information. The service is not designed specifically for children.
